New headteacher for Beech Hall School
BEECH Hall School in Tytherington will be getting a new headteacher for its senior pupils following its acquisition by Riverston Schools UK Ltd.
Formerly a ‘Best Small School in Cheshire’ and with an ‘Outstanding’ 2015 Independent Schools Inspectorate report, Beech Hall is the first of a number of UK acquisitions by the Riverston Group, based in London.
James Allen, deputy headmaster at Riverston School in south-east London, will move to Macclesfield during the summer for his new role.
Beech Hall School was established in 1926 and occupies a listed building and 16 acre site with around 200 boys and girls aged between 6 months and 16 years, an age range Riverston may extend to include a more specialist post-16 provision.
Professor Michael Lewis, executive chairman of the Riverston Group, said he was ‘delighted to assume the stewardship of a school with so much potential’ and said the Group planned extensive redevelopments.
Riverston specialises in providing an inclusive and integrated bespoke education to students ranging from exceptionally gifted and talented to those with mild or moderate additional learning needs.
