New head­teacher for Beech Hall School

BEECH Hall School in Tyther­ing­ton will be get­ting a new head­teacher for its se­nior pupils fol­low­ing its ac­qui­si­tion by River­ston Schools UK Ltd.

For­merly a ‘Best Small School in Cheshire’ and with an ‘Out­stand­ing’ 2015 In­de­pen­dent Schools In­spec­torate re­port, Beech Hall is the first of a num­ber of UK ac­qui­si­tions by the River­ston Group, based in Lon­don.

James Allen, deputy head­mas­ter at River­ston School in south-east Lon­don, will move to Macclesfield dur­ing the sum­mer for his new role.

Beech Hall School was es­tab­lished in 1926 and oc­cu­pies a listed build­ing and 16 acre site with around 200 boys and girls aged be­tween 6 months and 16 years, an age range River­ston may ex­tend to in­clude a more spe­cial­ist post-16 pro­vi­sion.

Pro­fes­sor Michael Lewis, ex­ec­u­tive chair­man of the River­ston Group, said he was ‘de­lighted to as­sume the stew­ard­ship of a school with so much po­ten­tial’ and said the Group planned ex­ten­sive re­de­vel­op­ments.

River­ston spe­cialises in pro­vid­ing an in­clu­sive and in­te­grated be­spoke ed­u­ca­tion to stu­dents rang­ing from ex­cep­tion­ally gifted and tal­ented to those with mild or mod­er­ate ad­di­tional learn­ing needs.
