●● NEW councillor for Tytherington Sam Gardner has said he is ‘thrilled’ and ‘relieved’ to have been elected to represent the ward.
Coun Gardner, who lives in Siddington with his wife, Charlotte and 18-week-old daughter, Matilda, went to school in Tytherington until the age of 13.
His hobbies include watching cricket, playing hockey and reading.
Demonstrating his tenacity, he said: “I knocked on every door in Tytherington over a year and a half.”
He added: “My number one focus for the next four years is to support Tytherington’s excellent schools, and in particular help with pupil safety by campaigning in the council for 20mph speed limits on all roads past schools in the ward.”
The 34-year-old cites the birth of Matilda, his first child, as his proudest moment. ●● THERE will be a baby and children’s market at The Tytherington Club on Saturday, June 20.
