Fans were devastated when Iain Banks, author of The Crow Road and The Wasp Factory, died in 2013, but his work continues to find a new audience – and this two-part romantic mystery, adapted from his bestseller of the same name, should attract a few more converts. Christian Cooke heads the cast as Stewart Gilmour, who was run out of his hometown of Stonemouth by his girlfriend Ellie’s criminal family, the Murstons. Now two years on, he’s returning for his best friend Callum’s funeral, and Don Murston makes it clear that he’s still not welcome.
