THANKFULLY, for once, most of my drinking has been done outdoors this week.

A trip to Stockport’s Foodie Friday event unearthed some cracking beers from High Peak Beer Company in the Market Hall where Corin Bland purveys an enormous selection of ales.

The perfect match for all the spicy street food on offer was Shiny Brewery’s IPA (£3) with hoppy, floral aromas and a light, refreshing palate and finish.

Popping into the recently-refurbished Baker’s Vaults was a treat and a reminder that Robinsons have put two new craft ales on the market which should be finding their way into the shops soon. They both have a distinctly American
