Derby win shows way for­ward for Ker­ridge

KER­RIDGE hosted lo­cal ri­vals Pott Shrigley at Clark Lane on a beau­ti­ful sum­mer’s af­ter­noon, where upon win­ning the toss Ker­ridge cap­tain Luke Wild opted to bat first. It was the visi­tors who took the early ini­tia­tive with a great caught and bowled dis­missal by I Tomen­son to re­move Har­bige (2) and when Hen­non bowled McKeith(0) in the next over Ker­ridge were reel­ing at11/2.

Re­gan and Cap­per pushed the score to 56 be­fore Lodge went aerial to take a great div­ing catch to see the back of Re­gan for 29.

A 102 run part­ner­ship for the fourth wicket took the the score to 158 be­fore I Tomen­son again with another caught and bowled brought Josh Cap­per’s knock to an end af­ter scor­ing a bril­liant 65. Gaz Davies went next over af­ter look­ing in good nick for his 41 bowled by Lodge.

With Luke Wild fir­ing a quick fire 34 , Ry­der (15) and Grayston (19*) Ker­ridge saw out their 45 overs to fin­ish on 261/9. T Hen­non (3/74) and S Lodge(3/54) the pick for Pott.

In the evening sun Pott, open­ing up with Hart and Parker, had got to 22 be­fore cap­tain Hart was bowled for six by Neil Banks. J Parker (29, bowled by Banks, was next to go on 39/2.

Davies (2/28) had Paul (0) caught be­hind and with Banks find­ing the tim­bers again, Pott were wob­bling on 41/4. Alex Grimes had A Tomen­son stumped by Wild for 26 at 72/6. With some re­sis­tance com­ing from the tail, J Lisle (26) and I Tomen­son (20) took the score into three fig­ures with Pott even­tu­ally be­ing dis­missed in the 27th over for 115.

Neil Banks fin­ished with fig­ures of 6/51 to claim full points for the home side.

At the half­way point of the sea­son, with four wins, four losses and a draw, Ker­ridge will look to con­tinue the re­cent suc­cess with another home fix­ture on Satur­day when Wis­tas­ton travel to Clark Lane
