Man who lied to land hospital job
An illegal immigrant who lied to get a job looking after ‘vulnerable’ patients at Macclesfield Hospital has been jailed.
Joshua Olajide Jideolaleye, 40, used another man’s identity to get a job at an agency.
The nigerian national then worked as a care assistant at the hospital for five weeks before he was found out.
At Warrington Crown Court, Recorder Mark Ainsworth told him: “The fact is that you were responsible for the personal care of patients, some who were vulnerable.”
Jideolaleye, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation and was jailed for 16 months.
Ffion Tomos, prosecuting, said: “His actions put patients at risk because he had not had the proper criminal checks or qualifications checks.”
After the hearing, a hospital spokesman said an independent investigation was being held. ●●
