BIG PICTURE

Macclesfield Express - - YOUR VIEWS -

obliged to accept.

The cost, £550 per week but a minimum charge of two weeks, £1,100.

I was located in a room on the second floor and the care home was not equipped to meet my simple needs.

We hope the beds to be purchased by the council are checked to indeed ensure QCC standards and certainly equal to those provided by Hollins View.

Yes we do care about safe bricks and mortar for the benefit of those that need care, because we do care about people.

This is why we are calling for specific answers to questions contained in my letter to the editor, Macclesfield Express July 8th.

With blessings to all. Jack Spencer Elder Macclesfield and Bollington United Reformed Church The Church at Park Green AS we in the Labour Party lick our wounds and reflect on the choice of a new leader here in Cheshire East we managed to successfully secure 16 Labour councillors with nine of them women – reflecting at last the gender balance of the nation in our local politics.

Cheshire East became a UKIP free zone and Macclesfield now has no Liberal Democrats unless of course you count the ones that are now Conservative councillors. Isn’t democracy brilliant?

It will be a busy few years as we attempt to keep the local Conservatives from allowing the destruction of our green land.

We have also got to ensure that the new Macclesfield Town Council takes the lead on the regeneration of the town centre and not allow a small, vocal, unelected group run roughshod over public opinion.

Our councillors will continue to campaign to protect care services in Macclesfield even after post election closures to care facilities have already been announced.

Nationally, Labour has to oppose the reintroduction of fox hunting and oppose the abolition of the Human Rights Act.

But the greatest battle will be saving our country from the anti-Europeans who seek to destroy the economic and social gains that EU membership affords us.

Cameron knows this, business knows it and so do the newspaper barons.

I welcome a referendum that will finally put to bed the great Conservative myth of their euro scepticism.
