●● A HIGH street optician has introduced a cutting edge new way of selecting and fitting glasses.

Specsavers in the Grosvenor Centre now offers Digital Precision Eyecare, which uses imaging software on tablet devices to help with frame selection.

Duncan Mackenzie, store director in Macclesfie­ld says: “This is very clever kit and has a real wow factor for customers. It’s a quick and easy process which ensures a perfect fit every time.”

Following an eye examinatio­n, the team assists customers in selecting their preferred glasses.

The tablet is then used to take an image of them wearing the glasses, which in turn captures a range of essential dispensing measuremen­ts. These are unique to the customer and their chosen glasses.

Duncan added: “The tablet can also be used to show you what you look like wearing a range of different glasses to help you make your choice. The intelligen­t software also helps you choose by any lens options you might want, by demonstrat­ing what they do in real time.” ●● A PUB is hosting a girls only cinema night.

The Park Tavern, on Park Lane, Macclesfie­ld, is transformi­ng into a boutique cinema, complete with cupcakes and cocktails. The free event is on Friday, July 17 from 8pm. ●● LIVE music returns to The Swan with Two Necks this Friday.

The band Step into the Light will play 9pm. Meanwhile on Saturday punk band VOMIT will playing from 9pm. ●● SINGER Tony M is to perform at The Broken Cross Club this Saturday. The gig starts at 9pm. ●● FILMS showing at Cinemac at the Heritage Centre this week include Minions at 5.30pm and Terminator: Genisys at 8pm.
