He’s worked on nearly 750 episodes of the South Bank Show, so it’s fair to say that writer and broadcaster Melvyn Bragg is no stranger to arts-based documentaries. That only makes it all the more surprising that no one has ever made a film about his own extraordinary life and career. Luckily, Baftawinning producer and director Olivia Lichtenstein is putting that right with this programme, which charts some of Bragg’s career highlights, from his early days in radio to Dennis Potter’s poignant final interview.
