JP & BRIMELOW has been one of the premier prop­erty com­pa­nies in south Manch­ester for more than 20 years. Here di­rec­tor Re­becca White­head tells us about the progress and suc­cess of the new­est part of its ser­vice. OUR block man­age­ment depart­ment be­gan in Fe­bru­ary 2013 af­ter we were ap­proached count­less times by let­tings and sales clients who were un­happy with their cur­rent man­age­ment com­pany.

Matthew Coak­ley joined the team as the head of block man­age­ment in Fe­bru­ary 2014 and has driven the com­pany for­ward. Matthew brought with him over 10 years of prop­erty ex­pe­ri­ence, not only in block man­age­ment, but also in let­tings, sales and main­te­nance.

With this vast ex­pe­ri­ence, he un­der­stands the wider prop­erty in­dus­try, which helps him ad­vise our clients and un­der­stand their needs. Now in our third year we are go­ing from strength to strength.

Our ser­vice is im­pec­ca­ble, and tes­ta­ment to this, we have taken over man­age­ment from Premier Es­tates, Brae­mar Es­tates and RMG, three of the big­gest agents, not only in Manch­ester, but the coun­try. We are also see­ing an in­crease in own­ers who have at­tempted to man­age build­ings them­selves af­ter poor ser­vice from a man­ag­ing agent com­ing into dif­fi­culty. There are more than 70 sep­a­rate pieces of leg­is­la­tion to ad­here to as a man­ag­ing agent, along with day-to-day dif­fi­cul­ties of run­ning a build­ing, which own­ers don’t of­ten re­alise.

Here at JP & Brimelow we be­lieve in a com­pletely trans­par­ent ser­vice and en­sure all clients are kept up-to-date with as much in­for­ma­tion as pos­si­ble. Us­ing our online lease­holder soft­ware, we can en­sure quick up­dates to all of our clients. Our block man­age­ment team has now moved to the Withing­ton of­fice to pro­vide more room for growth and a bet­ter cen­tralised po­si­tion. We cover our main three of­fice ar­eas of Dids­bury, Chorl­ton and Withing­ton and all sur­round­ing ar­eas.

Our ser­vice is tai­lored to each de­vel­op­ment’s needs. This al­lows us to en­sure the high­est pos­si­ble ser­vice stan­dards with the most com­pet­i­tive price. We have al­ready taken on de­vel­op­ments, in­creased the ser­vice lev­els they re­ceive and saved thou­sands on the bud­get. Some own­ers feel the need to sell their prop­erty to es­cape poor man­age­ment com­pa­nies how­ever, this nor­mally re­sults in a lower value. A change in man­age­ment com­pany can lead to a much bet­ter sit­u­a­tion.
