Solo album is a first from musician Jake

GUITARIST and singer, Jake Evans is releasing his debut solo album.

Jake, who lives in Kerridge, has played with New Order star Bernard Sumner, Joy Division’s Stephen Morris in their Bad Lieutenant project and Jimi Goodwin from Doves.

But now the 35-year-old is stepping out of the shadows with his first album ‘Day One’.

Described as ‘post-rock indie at its best’ the album features ‘effortless guitar’, ‘vocal melody’, ‘heartfelt lyrics’ and ‘euphoric sonic backdrops’.

Jake is also promoting his album with live dates ahead of the album release on July 31.

The first hundred CD/ LPs are available signed and sold through his online store at jakeevansm­usic.com.

The former All Hallows pupil started playing in bands when he was just 15 years old.

Jake’s first band, Rambo and Leroy, had a single played on XFM, and he also played with Macclesfie­ld Brit Pop stars Marion for a short period. In 2008, Jake was asked by New Order frontman Bernard Sumner to join his project Bad Lieutenant.

Since 2012 Jake has focused on his own musical projects and launched The Big Red music studio.
