Solo al­bum is a first from mu­si­cian Jake

GUI­TARIST and singer, Jake Evans is re­leas­ing his de­but solo al­bum.

Jake, who lives in Ker­ridge, has played with New Or­der star Bernard Sum­ner, Joy Di­vi­sion’s Stephen Mor­ris in their Bad Lieu­tenant pro­ject and Jimi Good­win from Doves.

But now the 35-year-old is step­ping out of the shad­ows with his first al­bum ‘Day One’.

De­scribed as ‘post-rock in­die at its best’ the al­bum fea­tures ‘ef­fort­less guitar’, ‘vo­cal melody’, ‘heart­felt lyrics’ and ‘eu­phoric sonic back­drops’.

Jake is also pro­mot­ing his al­bum with live dates ahead of the al­bum re­lease on July 31.

The first hun­dred CD/ LPs are avail­able signed and sold through his online store at ja­kee­vans­mu­sic.com.

The for­mer All Hal­lows pupil started play­ing in bands when he was just 15 years old.

Jake’s first band, Rambo and Leroy, had a sin­gle played on XFM, and he also played with Mac­cles­field Brit Pop stars Mar­ion for a short pe­riod. In 2008, Jake was asked by New Or­der front­man Bernard Sum­ner to join his pro­ject Bad Lieu­tenant.

Since 2012 Jake has fo­cused on his own mu­si­cal projects and launched The Big Red mu­sic stu­dio.
