£1m solar savings

-

A COMPANY is set to earn more than £1 million by installing solar panels on its roof.

Food packaging firm Proseal, based at Adlington Business Park, didn’t have to look far for their potential seven figure profit as salesman Les Hattersley is based in the neighbouring unit with Green Energy Commercial.

The company spent £300,000 on 1,000 solar panels which will produce so such electricity it will feed back into the grid.

It is estimated that the company will show a profit of more than £1 million within 20 years.

They will also save tens of thousands on their electricity bills.

Stephen Malone, co-founder of Proseal, which employs 230 people on the site, said: “We had looked into solar a while ago, but it was Les knocking on the door that spurred us on and we simply asked him for a quote.”

Stephen and co-founder Robert Hargreaves steered Proseal to a turnover of £30 million last year.
