Budding designers look to the animals for mural inspiration
SENIOR pupils from Beech Hall School were given the challenge of designing and painting a mural to decorate one of the infant classrooms, run by the Beech Hall Parents Association, BHPA.
The winners were announced on the final day of the spring term with painting getting underway at the start of the summer term.
Winner Grace from Year 9 said: “I was really surprised when the BHPA announced my name as the winner of the art competition. “I was over the moon! “My classmates Becky and Amelia came 2nd and 3rd.
“After Easter my friends in Year 9 and I made a start on painting the mural in the infant cloakroom.
“We incorporated ideas from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place designs then started to draw them out and paint them.
“I really enjoyed seeing my design on the wall and working with all my friends.”
The mural focussed on animals, including zebras and giraffes, and sea creatures.
