●● CRAFTY types will show their best offerings at the next Happy Valley Artisan Market.
The market happens each month to feature a variety of stalls run by people from Bollington and around who make various arts and crafts.
The market opens from 10am to 3pm on the first Sunday of each month situated at one of Bollington’s old landmarks - Clarence Mill.
There is limited free parking at the back of the mill.
The market is on Sunday, August 2. ●● ORGANISERS of a craft fair say they have been overwhelmed with the community response to their venture.
Artist Stuart Bennett and Helen Gretton, a writer and photographer, are preparing for their Bollington Summer Arts and Crafts Fayre to celebrate the wealth of creative talent on offer in Bollington.
There will be stalls with pottery, preserves, honey, soap, jewellery, handcrafted gifts, greetings cards and home decor items as well as original artworks.
Stuart, an artist and designer from Bollington, said: “We are delighted at the variety of local crafters, makers, hobbyists, artisans and artists that will be at the event.
“It’s a true celebration of Bollington’s talent. Stallholders will be giving demonstrations, and will be on hand to discuss their products and techniques.”
The Bollington Belles are giving a special performance and there will be folk musicians. A giant art canvas will be set up for the community.
The fair is on Sunday, August 9 from 10am to 4pm, at the Bridgend car park outside Broadheads Garage on Palmerston Street.
Local businesses will open specially and refreshments will be available.
