●● CRAFTY types will show their best of­fer­ings at the next Happy Val­ley Ar­ti­san Mar­ket.

The mar­ket hap­pens each month to fea­ture a va­ri­ety of stalls run by peo­ple from Bolling­ton and around who make var­i­ous arts and crafts.

The mar­ket opens from 10am to 3pm on the first Sun­day of each month si­t­u­ated at one of Bolling­ton’s old land­marks - Clarence Mill.

There is lim­ited free park­ing at the back of the mill.

The mar­ket is on Sun­day, Au­gust 2. ●● OR­GAN­IS­ERS of a craft fair say they have been over­whelmed with the com­mu­nity re­sponse to their ven­ture.

Artist Stu­art Ben­nett and He­len Gret­ton, a writer and pho­tog­ra­pher, are pre­par­ing for their Bolling­ton Sum­mer Arts and Crafts Fayre to celebrate the wealth of cre­ative tal­ent on of­fer in Bolling­ton.

There will be stalls with pot­tery, pre­serves, honey, soap, jew­ellery, hand­crafted gifts, greet­ings cards and home decor items as well as orig­i­nal art­works.

Stu­art, an artist and de­signer from Bolling­ton, said: “We are de­lighted at the va­ri­ety of lo­cal crafters, mak­ers, hob­by­ists, ar­ti­sans and artists that will be at the event.

“It’s a true cel­e­bra­tion of Bolling­ton’s tal­ent. Stall­hold­ers will be giv­ing demon­stra­tions, and will be on hand to dis­cuss their prod­ucts and tech­niques.”

The Bolling­ton Belles are giv­ing a spe­cial per­for­mance and there will be folk mu­si­cians. A gi­ant art can­vas will be set up for the com­mu­nity.

The fair is on Sun­day, Au­gust 9 from 10am to 4pm, at the Brid­gend car park out­side Broad­heads Garage on Palmer­ston Street.

Lo­cal busi­nesses will open spe­cially and re­fresh­ments will be avail­able.
