Art and dance at summer schools

-

CHILDREN made the most of their holidays with summer schools at Fallibroome Academy.

The youngsters aged between eight and 14 took part in various arts activities through a special week of summer schools.

More than 150 students took part and it proved to be a very lively start to the summer break. The five courses were music and media, drama, dance, musical theatre and art, and were led by arts professionals, including some ex-students.

Dawn Devine, from the school, said: “The summer schools are always very popular. The leaders were ably assisted by Fallibroome Academy sixth form performing arts students, who applied for the worthwhile opportunity of a week’s work experience.”

The week ended with an art exhibition and showcase so families could see how much they had achieved over the five days.

Sue Bean, mother of Katie and Matthew who attended the courses, said: “Katie thoroughly enjoyed the range of different techniques in her art school and the drama course was so good for self-confidence, poise and self-belief.”
