CH­ESTER FC were founded in 2010 fol­low­ing the wind­ing up of for­mer side Ch­ester City five years ago.

THEY play at the Look­ers Vaux­hall Sta­dium which has a ca­pac­ity of 5,376, with 4,500 of those be­ing seated.

THEY fin­ished 12th in the di­vi­sion last sea­son af­ter win­ning 19 of their games, 15 points be­hind Mac­cles­field.

CH­ESTER are man­aged by Mac­cles­field leg­end Steve Burr, who spent eight years at the Silk­men from 1984 to 1992. He scored their first ever goal in the Football Con­fer­ence af­ter help­ing the side earn pro­mo­tion into the top tier of non-league football.

WAYNE Rooney’s younger brother John is Ch­ester’s striker and will also be re­turn­ing to Mac­cles­field hav­ing spent two years at the club from 2008 to 2010.

CH­ESTER head into the match on the back of a 5-2 de­feat to Wok­ing at the King­field Sta­dium last Satur­day.
