David’s made for Den­mark with su­perb ti­tle vic­tory

DAVID Horsey has won his fourth Euro­pean Tour ti­tle in the ‘Made For Den­mark’ tour­na­ment at the Him­mer­land Re­sort.

Wilm­slow-based David led from the front af­ter a su­perb open­ing round of 63 and fol­lowed it with rounds of 67 and 68. He clinged on for a two-shot win over lo­cal hero Soren Keld­sen and Kristof­fer Broberg (Swe­den) and Aus­tralian Danny Gaunt with a fi­nal round of 73 tak­ing him to a 271 win­ning to­tal.

Horsey, 30, who was born in Stock­port and be­gan play­ing golf at Styal, won the Cheshire cham­pi­onships in 2005 and 2006 and the English County cham­pi­onship and was a mem­ber of the Walker Cup win­ning team which also in­cluded Rory McIl­roy.

He then turned pro­fes­sional and in his first year won the Euro­pean Chal­lenge Tour and since then has done well on the full Tour.

His latest win earned him 250,000 eu­ros and takes him to 56th place in the Race To Dubai with a to­tal of over 402,800 eu­ros to date.
