David’s made for Denmark with superb title victory
DAVID Horsey has won his fourth European Tour title in the ‘Made For Denmark’ tournament at the Himmerland Resort.
Wilmslow-based David led from the front after a superb opening round of 63 and followed it with rounds of 67 and 68. He clinged on for a two-shot win over local hero Soren Keldsen and Kristoffer Broberg (Sweden) and Australian Danny Gaunt with a final round of 73 taking him to a 271 winning total.
Horsey, 30, who was born in Stockport and began playing golf at Styal, won the Cheshire championships in 2005 and 2006 and the English County championship and was a member of the Walker Cup winning team which also included Rory McIlroy.
He then turned professional and in his first year won the European Challenge Tour and since then has done well on the full Tour.
His latest win earned him 250,000 euros and takes him to 56th place in the Race To Dubai with a total of over 402,800 euros to date.
