Canal boat blaze

RESIDENTS living on a canal boat have been left homeless after a fire.

Firefighters were called to Macclesfield Canal at Oak Lane, Kerridge, yesterday afternoon.

They discovered a large residential canal boat on fire.

Fire crews isolated the gas supply and extinguished the blaze with a hose reel jet.

No one was hurt during the incident which happened at 4pm.

The fire was caused by an electrical fault.
