Mu­se­ums are on course to bring lots of learn­ing

SUM­MER hol­i­days may be over but the town’s mu­se­ums still have plenty of fun in store.

Mac­cles­field Mu­se­ums have an­nounced new day-long art cour­ses for adults af­ter its kids’ ses­sions were such a hit over the sum­mer.

The se­lec­tion of work­shops will be led by the Wilm­slow Guild at the Old Sun­day School, rang­ing from cush­ion mak­ing to the history of El­iz­a­beth Gaskell, textile art to cal­lig­ra­phy for be­gin­ners.

Along­side these cour­ses the mu­se­ums are of­fer­ing cour­ses in: cre­ative writ­ing with au­thor Ju­lia Stagg; Silk the art of nat­u­ral dye­ing; ‘Have-ADab­ble’ art course for be­gin­ners and im­provers; ‘Make It’ day-course to cre­ate a flo­ral headdress, sil­ver pen­dant and fab­ric lan­tern.
