●● A SHOW­CASE event will take place at Bolling­ton Arts Cen­tre.

The event on Fri­day, Septem­ber 18 will be hosted by chair­man Bruce Ken­drick to celebrate some of the past high­lights from the cen­tre.

There will be some an­nounce­ments about plans for the fu­ture and the com­mit­tee prom­ises a few sur­prises.

Drinks and nib­bles will be pro­vided at the event.

The event starts at 7.30pm. ●● A PRO­LIFIC fig­ure on the English folk scene will per­form at the next Bolling­ton Folk Club.

John Kirk­patrick will per­form on Fri­day, Septem­ber 18 at the Dog and Par­tridge pub. It starts at 8.30pm, John per­forms solo, in duos, acous­tic groups and elec­tric bands and has es­tab­lished a rep­u­ta­tion as an in­stru­men­tal vir­tu­oso and ses­sion mu­si­cian, as well as a lead­ing in­ter­preter of English folk mu­sic.

Ad­mis­sion costs £7, with no ad­vance tick­ets.

The Pi­at­tis are amongst the UK’s fore­most young string quar­tets, with a host of awards and crit­i­cally-ac­claimed record­ings to their name.

They will per­form at 8pm at Bolling­ton Arts Cen­tre.

Tick­ets cost £15. ●● A HOST of events are com­ing up as part of this year’s Bolling­ton Walk­ing Fes­ti­val.

The fes­ti­val has been brought for­ward to run from Satur­day, Septem­ber 26 to Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 4.

There will be 38 walks of lengths from 1 to 20 miles aimed at all ages and a va­ri­ety of other events tak­ing place in the town.
