Big turn out for President

THERE was a magnificent entry of 84 players in the Styal President’s Putter competition which delighted President Mike Rhodes.

Top of the shop with 43 points was Mike Moore ahead of Peter Christie 42 and Brian Donohue and Peter Harris, both 41.

The only Two came from captain Ivan Bloor on the long 15th and nearest the pin and line prizes went to Steve Walker, Dave Hollick and Ged Harrison.

Rhodes said: “I requested that all of the day’s competition fees be donated to the Captain’s Charity that is in aid of Stockport Palliative Care in association with MacMillan Cancer Support and I was delighted to hand over £132 to Ivan.”

In a Seniors Stableford at Styal M Stephenson led in with 39 points, two more than Clive Senior and David Blackburn.

Wednesday Stableford action saw their Cheshire junior star Ryan Nevins in top spot with 39 points from Ian Thomason 37 and Ryan Owen 36.

The latest round of Styal Ladies Summer Cup had Judith Lacy in first place after a cpo on 16 points with Chris Pogson.
