Ekstein takes it to the Max

THE monthly medal at Alderley Edge saw Max Ekstein in blistering form as he posted a stunning 63 to finish ahead of M Troup 66.

In division two Zak Penney was even hotter with his 61 leaving him five shots clear of Chris Regan.

The sixth summer medal at Davenport had Peter Crosby ruling the roost in division one with 65 from Bradley Cooke 66.

In the other two divisions Einar Merrygold 67 and Graham Lavery 68 were the main men.

Davenport ladies were also in medal action with Christine Thwaites top of division one with 64.

The other divisional winners were Beryl Nolan after a cpo on 73 with Angela Harding and Lynne Lea 69.

Macclesfie­ld ladies were in Stableford mode with Maggie Bardsley well clear of the field with 39 points from Myra Clark 33 and Marlene Connor 32.

In the Kordian Order of Merit Alycia Sutton has amassed 177 points to lead from Judy Mutter 154 and Myra Clark 144.

The latest Cheshire Life members meeting at Bramall Park had Tytheringt­on again in top spot as Robert Hamilton and Mike Melia won a cpo on 40 points from Tony Gregory (Stockport) and Charles Beadle (Bramhall).

Prestbury’s men played for the Pierpoint Memorial Trophy and captain Graham Keys was in charge with 67 ahead of Simon Moorhouse 68 and Richard Lowery on 71.

Prestbury ladies were in medal mode and England junior star Isobel Wardle showed her class topping division one with 76 and in division two Carol Hulme led in with 78.

A Fun Golf competitio­n at Macc had a good entry of 58 players with the winners being Janette Brown and Ellie Stanier winning from Rod Price and Rick Eyres.

A Thursday Stableford at Shrigley Hall was won by Graeme Nimmo with 37 points from Jez Hancock 36 and John Hogan 34.
