Customer the star in revamp of pharmacy
A LOYAL customer was given the honour of re-launching a town centre pharmacy.
The former Co-operative Pharmacy branches in Macclesfield are now part of the independent pharmacy chain Well.
At the new Well pharmacy on Park Lane, the first to re-launch in the town, Peter Massey, a customer of the store for the last 25 years, was invited to officially open the branch.
The changes apply to three pharmacies in Macclesfield: 209 Park Lane; Bollin House, Sunderland Street and 76-80 Sunderland Street.
Peter said: “I’m so pleased to have been chosen and I’m delighted to attend the grand opening of Well.
“This recognition helps to give me the confidence to continue to make a difference in the local community.”
The transformation is part of a five-year, £200million investment in the high street pharmacy chain by new owner, Bestway Group.
Jonathan Tabiner-Shaw, regional manager for Well in Macclesfield, said: “We are excited to unveil the new-look pharmacies and all of our branch colleagues are looking forward to providing personalised health and wellbeing services as they continue to serve the local communities in Macclesfield.
“Our aim is to be part of the fabric of the local community, so we’re overjoyed that we were able to celebrate Peter’s commitment to the community, giving us a further reason to celebrate.
“We recognise that many of our customers like Peter are tireless in their efforts to support local people and the local area, which is why we wanted to celebrate this at our grand opening.”
Well pharmacists offer confidential advice and products for minor ailments, specialist health services such as smoking cessation and weight management and management of medicines.
