Adarabioyo and Meikle join squad

-

MACCLESFIELD Town have bolstered their squad after signing attacking pair Lindon Meikle and Fisayo Adarabioyo.

Both men have signed on non-contract terms, with Meikle arriving after his release by League Two club York City and Adarabioyo joining after leaving Premier League side Crystal Palace.

Meikle has experience playing in this division, having won the National League title with former club Mansfield Town in 2013.

He went on to make over 100 appearances for the Stags during a three year spell at the club, before then turning down a new deal to join York.

The 27-year-old spent a year with York, but after being transfer listed by manager Russ Wilcox, he left by mutual consent in August.

Meikle began his career at Eastwood Town, and has also received three caps for the England C team.

Adarabioyo has played for several clubs during his short career, most recently featuring for Crystal Palace’s U21 side last season.

The 20-year-old spent time at Birmingham City from 2011 to 2013, with his performances resulting in him earning a trial with Manchester United.

United decided against offering him a contract, but he instead joined Manchester City to continue his development at the age of 18.

Fisayo’s brother Tosin Adarabioyo still plays for Man City’s academy and is highly rated amongst the youth set up at the club.

Both Adarabioyo and Meikle made their debuts for Macclesfield during Saturday’s emphatic 3-0 victory against Aldershot after they came off the bench during the second half of the game.
