Ingredients firm adds three new employees to its successful mix

A FOOD ingredients distributor has welcomed three new recruits as part of an expansion after a successful year.

Direct Food Ingredients, based at Waters Green in Macclesfield, has taken on software developer Andy Watt, 48, who has 15 years with a major grocery retailer and will help enhance investment in the company’s IT structures.

Following hot on the heels of the opening of Direct Food Ingredients’ first overseas office in Los Angeles, Jane Gilman, 47, also joins the company’s team after a three-year role at Reaseheath College working in the food technology department.

Finally, Sophie Tristram, 25, joins the team as a customer service administrator, after working in the health and beauty industry for five years.

Direct Food Ingredients employs 16 staff and imports and distributes foods, nutritional and sports ingredients and vitamin and mineral premixes.

Managing director Steve Loake said: “Direct Food Ingredients has had a record-breaking year of trading so far and this recent expansion in team members will facilitate the business in continuing to achieve our outstanding and ambitious turnovers.”
