Panto set for theatre return

-

A PANTOMIME will return to Clonter Opera Theatre after a successful debut last year.

Last December William Whelton from Macclesfield produced the first family pantomime at Clonter Opera Theatre and won rave reviews.

Now William and the theatre are teaming up again to bring an even bigger and better show, Jack and the Beanstalk, with a cast including West End performers, professional actors and a young ensemble of local children.

The voice of the Giant will be barrister, author and actor John Bromley Davenport.

It will be sponsored by furniture store Arighi Bianchi and raise money for East Cheshire Hospice.

William Whelton said: “We took a risk last year because Clonter Opera Theatre had never housed a panto before and it was the my first major production.

“But I’m happy to say it paid off. The only challenge this year is we have set the bar so high we need to outdo ourselves, but I’m ready to give it a go.”

Jack and the Beanstalk is from December 21 to 31 at the theatre at Swettenham Heath, Congleton.
