Arts showcase
Name of event: SHINE charity Christmas fair and arts showcase. Where / when is it?: 12 noon to 5pm, Sunday, November 22. Morton Hall Community Centre, Union Road, Macclesfield, SK11 7BN. What does it involve?: Live performances throughout the day of Japanese traditional dance, Indian Bollywood dance, Middle Eastern Belly Dance, Flamenco Fusion, local Bollington based folk music trio Tinners Rabbit, singersongwriters Tim Lee and Jonathon Tarplee with his band The Blue Yellows and local Macclesfield Stagecoach Performing Arts School. There are also various stalls with Christmas cakes, home-made Christmas decorations, a general rummage stall, Eastern bazaar, henna painting, kids’ face painting, Japanese calligraphy demonstrations, sushi stall and Indonesian bamboo massage trial sessions. Plus an appearance from Father and Mary Christmas. Who is it suitable for?: Families with young children, people interested in multicultural arts, live music lovers and those who love to shop. Any other information?: It is a fundraising event in support of the CRISIS homeless charity, in order to raise funds for the CRISIS Christmas shelters. Advanced tickets are £7 adults, £5 under-16s.
