Celebrities get ready to face their fears again

-

The dark nights are drawing in, and most of us would love the chance to get away for a few weeks, leave the autumn chill behind and find some sunshine.

So how does a fortnight in the Australian jungle sound?

Actually, second thoughts – don't go there!

As well as the bugs, snakes and other creepy crawlies, you will most likely bump into some highly-strung reality TV stars arguing over a grain of rice.

Yes, it's that time of year again folks, so hold on to your cork hats as I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! (Sunday ITV, 9pm) is back and promising to be as good as, if not better, than ever.

If the rumours are to be believed, this year is going to be even tougher for the stars.

A whole host of new Bushtucker trials have been revealed, including Sun Scream, which involves contestants smearing gruesome concoctions, including bugs and fish guts, over each others' skin.

And then there are sheep's testicles to deal with. This trial apparently works like a normal limbo, but as the celebrities bend under the cane, they have to have 10 sheep testicles dangled in their mouths.

The food in the eating challenges has apparently stepped up a notch as well, with dishes of the day including duck feet, cow lips, bush pig semen, camel penis porridge, boiled sheep testicles and rat tail soup.

It may only feel like only yesterday that Gemma Collins was crying mascara stained tears while complaining of contracting malaria and Carl Fogarty was being crowned King of the Jungle.

However, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive, as members of the public (and bookies) attempt to guess who will flying out to the Land of Oz.

Labour MP Simon Danczuk, athlete Iwan Thomas, TV chef Rustie Lee, choreographer Brian Friedman, X Factor reject Chloe Mafia, Emmerdale actress Gemma Oaten, and TV personality and retired athlete Caitlyn Jenner (formerly Bruce Jenner) are some of the names being bandied about.

It has also been reported by one newspaper that Watchdog and The Weakest Link host Anne Robinson has been offered £750,000 to take part, while glamour model Katie Price, who has already appeared twice on the ITV show, in 2004 and 2009, is fancied to make it a hat-trick.

But arguably the most interesting name rumoured to be making an appearance is Paul Gascoigne.
