Leader Jennifer takes star role
A CARE worker from a Bollington home won an award for her leadership at a ceremony.
Jennifer Jones is celebrating after receiving the Leader of the Year award for her work as home manager at Ingersley Court in Bollington at the CLS Care Services’ Star Awards ceremony, held at Jodrell Bank Observatory.
The Leader of the Year award is offered to an individual who has enabled their team, service, or department to achieve their goals through providing consistent and effective leadership and management.
Andrea Male, lead Aassessor at West Cheshire College, one of the 10 independent judges at the CLS Star Awards, said: “Jen Jones is a very dedicated and strong member of staff.
“She shows empathy and gives support to everyone that she comes across.”
Jen was one of two care workers from Macclesfield to pick up awards, the other being Joanne Donnelly who received the Care Professional of the Year award for her work at Parklands in Poynton.
CLS Care Services is a charitable organisation and many of its homes operate specialist households for people with dementia.
The winners of the Star Awards were selected following interviews with independent judges from organisations including Skills for Care and Dementia Care Matters.
The awards are open to all staff members, and colleagues and visitors to CLS care homes are able to nominate the people and teams who make an exceptional contribution to the organisation’s residents, customers and staff. The event also saw more than 150 staff receiving qualifications ranging from diplomas to apprenticeships.
