THE children, parents and staff at St Gregory’s School have said thanks to the community after a successful Christmas fair.

The school, which is on Albert Road in Bollington, hosted a Christmas market and fair with a variety of stalls for families and members of the community to attend.

The PTA organised the event, which featured stalls with items made by the children.

As well as Christmas goodies on offer, there was also refreshments, a tombola, raffle and auction.

Children enjoyed visits to the Santa’s grotto at the event.

The PTA said they had an impressive turnout and thank the community for its support.

Anita Armitt, from the PTA, said: “We want to say a big thank you to everyone who attended and supported St Gregory’s school fair.

“We had a number of stalls selling festive goodies, tombolas, super raffle and auction prizes, games for the children and hot turkey rolls.

“It was a great turnout, so thank you for your support.

“It was a wonderful and successful evening full of Christmas cheer.

“Everyone really got into the Christmas spirit.”

The PTA runs events including quiz and film nights to raise money.

Recent activities have also included Christmas cards made by the children.

Bollington town mayor Angela Williams said: “St Gregory’s Christmas fair was a great success and was enjoyed by all.”
