‘We need more openness and transparency’
COUN Janet Clowes is Cabinet member for Adults, Health and Leisure.
She represents Wybunbury as a Conservative councillor, lives in Nantwich, and has a background of working in health and social care.
Her career has included being an intensive care nursing sister and a lecturer in health and social care at South Cheshire College.
She later moved to Chester University as post-graduate leader in health promotion and community studies.
She was the second place Parliamentary candidate for Wythenshawe and Sale East in the 2010 General Election and joined Cheshire East as a councillor in 2011.
She said: “We do need a new leader and to make sure that the good things we’ve achieved are continued, to build on the successes and learn how things can be done differently in future.
“Communication can be improved and the way we put messages across.
“We need far more openness and transparency with our residents, partners and neighbours.
“We need to function in that way.
“I’ve been a leader of teams but I’m not a leader in the same mould as Michael Jones, that’s probably a good thing, we need a refresh.”
