Pupils jump for joy at results
TYTHERINGTON School staff and pupils are celebrating after being ranked in the top 10 per cent of sixth forms out of more than 2,500 in the country.
Headteacher Emmanuel Botwe received a special certificate to mark the achievement from Advanced Level Performance Systems, Alps, a company providing A-level, AS-level and BTEC Level 3 reports to help improve student performance.
The company analysed 2,580 schools and colleges’ A-level performance over the year 2014-15.
The accolade follows the school’s inclusion in a national newspaper’s list of the top 500 comprehensive schools.
Mr Botwe said: “The hard work of our students, the commitment of our staff and their shared passion for learning has resulted in another year of excellent A-level results for our outstanding sixth form.
“We are delighted to be yet again ranked in the top 10 per cent of schools in the country.
“We were thrilled to be included in the Sunday Times Top Comprehensive list too.
“It has been great to be able to celebrate all the fantastic news about our achievements together.”
Head of sixth form, Caroline Brennan, said: “We have a very special sixth form indeed.
“It combines exceptionally high academic results with a really wonderful community atmosphere.”
