30 ventures benefit from free help
ALMOST 30 new businesses have been given free help by a new initiative to boost the local economy.
Enterprising Macclesfield, which was launched last November, aims to be a one-stopshop for free advice and support to anyone wanting to set up their own social or commercial enterprise.
It is run by a Make it Macclesfield, a Community Interest Company. So far 28 enterprises so far have been given free advice.
Chairman Tim Shercliff said: “In the short period of time that we have been setup we have seen strong demand for enterprise support in the area.
“We have engaged with some exciting and innovative businesses and we can’t wait to support more.”
The aim is to simplify the often confusing world of business by offering would-be entrepreneurs free coaching from leading business professionals.
It also links up with a group of expert advisors in the fields of finance, legal, IT, HR, sales and marketing, banking, branding, website and social media, and signpost to pots of funding to help get their venture off the ground.
