Town council appeal for views on local plan

-

RESIDENTS have a chance to influence the town council’s recommendation on the housing plan for Macclesfield.

Cheshire East is consulting on its Local Plan which sets out where houses will be built in Macclesfield until 2030 and beyond. The plan includes green belt at the King’s School Fence Avenue site, at Gaw End Lane and a large swathe of green belt in south west Macclesfield. The Save Macclesfield Green Belt group is upping its campaign against the plan.

Macclesfield Town Council wants to hear residents’ views to help shape its recommendation on the plan.

Pete Turner, town clerk, said: “The draft Local Plan has been issued for consultation and Macclesfield Town Council is inviting you to help inform the its response.

“Information relating to Macclesfield will be on display and councillors and officers will be available to help you leave any feedback. Macclesfield Town Council’s planning committee will meet on April 4 to review the information.”

For more information go to Macclesfield Town Hall on Wednesday, March 30 from 6pm to 9pm, call 01625 374142 or visit macclesfield-tc.gov. uk.

The consultation runs to April 19.
