Town coun­cil ap­peal for views on lo­cal plan

RES­I­DENTS have a chance to in­flu­ence the town coun­cil’s rec­om­men­da­tion on the hous­ing plan for Mac­cles­field.

Cheshire East is con­sult­ing on its Lo­cal Plan which sets out where houses will be built in Mac­cles­field un­til 2030 and be­yond. The plan in­cludes green belt at the King’s School Fence Av­enue site, at Gaw End Lane and a large swathe of green belt in south west Mac­cles­field. The Save Mac­cles­field Green Belt group is up­ping its cam­paign against the plan.

Mac­cles­field Town Coun­cil wants to hear res­i­dents’ views to help shape its rec­om­men­da­tion on the plan.

Pete Turner, town clerk, said: “The draft Lo­cal Plan has been is­sued for con­sul­ta­tion and Mac­cles­field Town Coun­cil is invit­ing you to help in­form the its re­sponse.

“In­for­ma­tion re­lat­ing to Mac­cles­field will be on dis­play and coun­cil­lors and of­fi­cers will be avail­able to help you leave any feed­back. Mac­cles­field Town Coun­cil’s plan­ning com­mit­tee will meet on April 4 to re­view the in­for­ma­tion.”
