On the ground floor there will be an ex­hi­bi­tion of 28 paint­ings and sketches by the late Jules Weinberg, a young Jewish evac­uee from Lon­don. Many of th­ese paint­ings were on dis­play in a per­sonal ex­hi­bi­tion of his work in 1946 at West Park Mu­seum and have not been on pub­lic dis­play for many years. Also on dis­play, on the ground floor, are sam­ples from the Jules Pat­tern Book, some rare items re­lat­ing to the Jewish firm of Ober­land Silks that are on loan from Mac­cles­field Silk Mu­seum, early orig­i­nal tech­ni­cal doc­u­ments from Fried­lands and some per­sonal mem­o­ra­bilia of the Tan­nen­baum ex­pe­ri­ence from Aus­tria to Mac­cles­field. On the first floor, which, from 1941-46, housed the Mac­cles­field Syn­a­gogue and on the top floor will be pan­els il­lus­trat­ing com­mu­nal ac­tiv­i­ties of Mac­cles­field’s 200 Jews.
