Countdown to duck race

-

RUBBER ducks are limbering up and stretching their wings ahead of a spectacular race along the River Dean.

The event, in aid of the East Cheshire Hospice, is being hosted by the Crown Inn.

Sean Bradbury, from the event, said: “As part of our ongoing fundraising for East Cheshire Hospice, The Crown Inn will be running the annual Easter duck race down the River Dean.

“Last year’s race was a sellout, with over 80 ducks racing, and 100 ducks will be available for decoration this year.

“This long running event has delighted families for over 10 years.

“Many children and adults love the opportunity to decorate their race entrant and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere in Bollington.”

The event takes place on Monday, March 28, at 2pm.

Ducks are available for purchase and decoration for £5 and all proceeds go to East Cheshire Hospice.

There will be a prize for the first duck across the finish line, as well as the best decorated duck.
