ANDY Halls felt Macclesfield Town side were not good enough during Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Boreham Wood.

The Silkmen had more possession and shots in the game but couldn’t make their chances count and had to settle for a point.

Halls wasn’t happy with the performance and believes his team need to do a lot to improve.

“It’s disappointing and it didn’t feel like we were ever going to score. We created half chances but we fell away in the final third,” he said. “We got into dangerous areas but we need a bit more quality there that can hopefully help us to score some goals and get back to winning ways.

“We didn’t keep the ball as well as we should have done and our work rate was okay at times but it should have been better throughout the 90 minutes.

“It’s difficult as Boreham Wood are fighting for their lives so they put everything on the line for 90 minutes to get the win as they’re desperate, so I think the draw was probably a fair result.”

Up next for Macclesfield is a trip to Gateshead on Good Friday, and Halls is expecting another tough encounter.

“Sometimes we have been lacking fight so we’ll do our best to put that right and get the points.”
