Charity call for the business awards

-

NORTH East Cheshire Business Awards is on the hunt for this year’s charity partner.

Organisers of the awards are looking for a charity to benefit from fundraising activity and publicity generated from the event which is due to take place on November 17 this year at The Mere Resort.

The awards – now in its sixth year, are dedicated to celebrating the success, talent and all that’s good about business in North East Cheshire.

Last year, The Rossendale Trust were the partner charity, enjoying great exposure in all the marketing activity in the run up and during the event and benefiting from over £4,000 raised on the awards night itself.

Chairman of the organising committee Sue Bowden of Macclesfield Chamber of Commerce said the partner charity would be working closely with the awards team to get the most from the partnership.

She said: “The Rossendale Trust put as much into it as we did and we are looking for a similarly proactive recipient this year.”

To be in the running, charities need to be based within North East Cheshire catchment area and benefit people locally.

Sue added: “We’d like a partner that gets totally behind the awards and makes the most of the opportunity on offer and helps raise awareness of the awards.

“Celebrity connections, contributions to the raffle and a mailing list they could share are all things which help the collective effort.”

Applying charities also need to detail how any fund-raising would benefit the cause, any specific projects they are working on and how money raised would be spent.

The partnership deal with the awards would deliver many exposure opportunities throughout 2016 from launch in May to the actual event in November.

Partnership would include branding on the North East Cheshire Awards website, involvement in all media activity including press, radio, PR, social media, and the chance to attend related networking and awareness-building events. On the night the charity would be promoted via the awards ceremony programme brochure and stage and set branding, plus have the opportunity to showcase their cause through a presentation at the ceremony.

Sue Heaven, of The Rossendale Trust, said the event had given the charity a huge boost. She added: “We are still benefiting six months on from the heightened awareness and the money raised has made a big difference to the people we support. I would commend the association to every charity. It meant a great deal to us to be chosen as the North East Cheshire Business Awards Charity 2015. Building good relationships with the business community is an essential part of our strategy, and not only for fundraising, although the fantastic support on the night was very generous and exceeded our expectations.”

If you would like to be considered as the North East Cheshire Business Awards charity partner for 2016 email info@necbawards.co.uk and tell them why they should choose your cause no later than Friday, April 29. Please note a shortlist will be selected that will be invited to present to the working party week commencing May 9. Details of the catchment area can be found at www.necbawards.co.uk.
