All Hallows secure Year 8 crown

- SCHOOLS FOOTBALL

THE Macclesfield & District Schools FA Year 8 Cup Final took place at All Hallows Catholic High School between All Hallows and Poynton.

Poynton took an early lead through Adam Wellings and looked the stronger team at first.

All Hallows gradually took more control of the game and equalised through Callum Speed.

The All Hallows team gained confidence and shortly took the lead through Callum Speed. Although the game was quite even, the All Hallows players began to find the net with unerring accuracy and went 7-1 up with further goals from Zak Box (3), Marshall Stuart and another from Speed.

Poynton scored a consolation goal towards the end through Jack Rimmer. The game was played in a good spirit and was a fine advert for schools’ football.

A spokesman for Macclesfield and District Schools FA said: “Many thanks to Royal Bank of Scotland (Macclesfield) for sponsoring the competition and to Becky Owen at RBS for her support.
