Rose Queen Fete will feature fell race

-

A VILLAGE will hold its 62nd Rose Queen Fete later this month.

The Bosley Rose Queen Fete and Fell Race will take place on Saturday, June 18 at 2pm.

This year’s Rose Queen is Daisy Worrall, with Oliver Carter taking up the crown as Rose King.

The fell race will start and finish at Bosley St. Mary’s Primary School and begins at 3.15pm on the day. There is also a junior race of 3km for ages 10 to 15 which begins at 3.05pm.

There will be a host of other activities on the day including a Rodeo Bull competition, country dancing from pupils at Bosley St Mary’s School, a carousel, bouncy castle and Shetland ponies. There will also be a wide range of refreshments and stalls.

Steph Gleave, one of the fete’s organisers, said: “We’re really looking forward to this year’s event. Since we combined it with the fell race it’s become even more popular and is one of the biggest fetes in Cheshire.

“There are roles for all of the children in the Rose Queen parade - crown bearers, trumpeters, sword bearers, drummers and flower girls, and they are all very excited about the day.”
