Rose Queen Fete will fea­ture fell race

A VIL­LAGE will hold its 62nd Rose Queen Fete later this month.

The Bosley Rose Queen Fete and Fell Race will take place on Satur­day, June 18 at 2pm.

This year’s Rose Queen is Daisy Wor­rall, with Oliver Carter tak­ing up the crown as Rose King.

The fell race will start and fin­ish at Bosley St. Mary’s Pri­mary School and be­gins at 3.15pm on the day. There is also a ju­nior race of 3km for ages 10 to 15 which be­gins at 3.05pm.

There will be a host of other ac­tiv­i­ties on the day in­clud­ing a Rodeo Bull com­pe­ti­tion, coun­try dancing from pupils at Bosley St Mary’s School, a carousel, bouncy cas­tle and Shet­land ponies. There will also be a wide range of re­fresh­ments and stalls.

Steph Gleave, one of the fete’s or­gan­is­ers, said: “We’re re­ally look­ing forward to this year’s event. Since we com­bined it with the fell race it’s be­come even more pop­u­lar and is one of the big­gest fetes in Cheshire.

“There are roles for all of the chil­dren in the Rose Queen pa­rade - crown bear­ers, trum­peters, sword bear­ers, drum­mers and flower girls, and they are all very ex­cited about the day.”
