Born on the Same Day Channel 4, 9pm
Each episode of this series explores the lives of three individuals all born on the same day. One is now a famous figure, and the others ordinary people with extraordinary stories to tell. The three individuals’ personal stories are combined with the major historical events to reveal their contrasting experiences. The first programme focuses on explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who entered the world on the same day – March 7, 1944 – as firstgeneration immigrant Ewart Rennalls and foster mother to 97 children, Frances Chorlton.
