Farm trust delighted to benefit at awards
ACHARITY which provides holidays for poorly and disadvantaged children will benefit from this year’s North East Cheshire Business Awards.
The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, based at Booth Bank Farm, in Millington, provides a variety of programmes for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the North West.
The needs of the children visiting The Adventure Farm range from complex and severe physical and learning disabilities, sensory impairments and terminal illnesses through to children who act as Carers for a family member, those dealing with bereavement and children who have been victims of abuse.
It has been chosen as this year’s beneficiary of the North East Cheshire Business Awards, which chooses a charity to support at the awards ceremony each year.
Last year, The Rossendale Trust were the partner charity, enjoying great exposure in all the marketing activity in the run up and during the event and benefiting from over £4,000 raised on the awards night itself, as well as plenty of brand exposure.
Rob Bashforth, communities fundraiser, said: “The Children’s Adventure Farm is a shining light in the lives of special children who have only known so much hardship.
“I’m delighted that we have been selected by Macclesfield chamber of commerce to be this year’s charity for the awards.
“This gives us a great opportunity to work and fundraise with local businesses in the area, which in turn will directly help the children who come to visit us at the Adventure Farm.
“It is also so important for us as a small charity to spread awareness of our wonderful facility.”
The charity, which was started in 1985, was chosen to benefit from the awards after the organisers put out an appeal for a worthy cause.
However the charity partner for 2017 will be the winners of the new Charity of the Year category at this year’s event, with charities across the east Cheshire region encouraged to enter.
The award will go to a charity based within the north east Cheshire area that benefits people locally, though not exclusively, and makes a real impact on the charity sector it is working within.
The closing date for entries is 30 September 2016. Entry is free and forms are available via the website www.necb awards.co.uk.
