ONCE again our studios are full of youngsters who are with us for their school work experience.

This week it’s the turn of one of our sponsors, The King’s School in Macclesfield, and we will have the students learning all about what happens both on and off air at a radio station. The following week it’s the turn of Tytherington School and this year’s school year concludes with four students from Buxton Community School week commencing Monday, July 11.

It is also a busy time for our outside events team. Saturday, July 2, will see us at the Puss Bank School summer fair, the Bollington Cross School summer fair, the Sowcar Brook duck race, and the opening of Bollington Well Dressing week.

On Sunday, July 3, we will be at the Gawsworth Queen’s Birthday Fayre and the Chrome Motors Soccer Sixes, which this year are being held at the King’s School Derby Fields.

For details of these events and many, many more please take a look at the What’s On guide on our website www. thethread.org.uk.

The next Silklands revival night will take place at Macclesfield Town Football Club on Saturday, July 2, and is in aid of Sharon Stoke’s memorial garden at Woodlands Care Home and MTFC. Tickets are officially sold out but we have four tickets to give away in a competition we are running. See our website for more details, the winners names will be announced on Thursday, June 30.
