Wild about natural food
Name of event: Wild Food Cookery and Foraging Course. Where / when is it?: Saturday, July 16, in Bollington. What does it involve?: If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to utilise and cook with the wild plants surrounding us then this is the course for you. Learn alongside professional wild food forager James Wood. Through the day we will learn how to correctly and safely identify, source and harvest the huge abundance of wild greens surrounding us, while trying a huge range of pre-made wild food tasters. We then return to our main site to begin the cookery side of our course. You will all learn how to chop, boil, steam, fry, preserve and utilise the plants we’ve harvested, creating your own truly seasonal three course meal which we can sit and enjoy with wild wines, cordials or even cocktails in the beautiful surroundings Cheshire has to offer. Included: All cooking equipment and materials, wild food tasters, tea, coffee, refreshments, lunch and aprons for the session. Who is it suitable for?: People who want to try new flavours, who are interested in eating truly local and seasonal produce and anyone interested in learning more about the outdoors. Any other information?: I work alongside the rangers and local growing groups to promote responsible and sustainable foraging, I’m fully insured, am a member of the European foraging association and have run these courses for over five years, so rest assured your safe tasting the outdoors with me.
