Macclesfield Express

We know the boost winning can give

-

THE North East Cheshire Business Awards celebrate the best in business across Macclesfield and East Cheshire, and take place for the sixth time in November.

This year there are 11 categories open to the region’s businesses, with entries welcome from all businesses regardless of size – you just have to get your nominations in before the deadline of September 30.

As part of our coverage of the area’s biggest celebration of local enterprise, the Express is talking to the category sponsors each week to see why they are supporting the event.

This week we talk to Justine Clowes, equity partner at SAS Daniels LLP and head of the Macclesfield office, a role she shares with Nigel Read.

Justine is a private client lawyer specialising in wills and wealth planning and also heads up the private client team for the firm.

She joined SAS Daniels in 2000 as a trainee solicitor, qualifying in 2002, and was made partner in 2007.

Which award are you sponsoring and why did you choose to sponsor that particular award?

We are sponsoring the Excellence in Customer Service Award. This is something we pride ourselves on, and, as many of our clients are SME business owners, we understand just how much of an impact customer service can have. If you get it wrong your business suffers, get it right and you build customer loyalty that will bring rewards in the future.

Why have you got involved with the business awards?

We chose to sponsor an award this year having entered the business awards ourselves last year.

We won our category and were extremely proud of what we achieved. We know first-hand what a positive impact winning can have and we wanted to encourage other businesses to get involved and enter.

Why is North East Cheshire such a great place to do business?

NE Cheshire is a fantastic place to do business as is evidenced by the number of exceptional entries to the awards this year.

What is your best piece of business advice?

Try to put yourself in your clients’ shoes, understand what their concerns might be and what their ideal solution would be. Avoid jargon and over complicating things and you will ensure they are comfortable with the outcome.
