Designs shine on catwalk
CHARLES Roe House was transformed into a catwalk for Macclesfield College’s end of year show.
Talented fashion students have been working hard on their designs, which were unveiled at the event.
Polly Burton, who has successfully completed her first year on the UAL Fashion Course, said: “‘I loved the end of year catwalk. I enjoyed so much the build-up to the show when we began styling the models, as well as the atmosphere of the show itself.”
UAL Fashion student Lauren Russell said: “It was amazing to see the outfits that we all worked so hard on all year come to life on the catwalk in the way we imagined and being able to style them ourselves so others could see our vision. The show was fantastic.”
Angela Devoti, course leader, said it was a fantastic end to a great year, which also saw students take part in live projects and an art and design exhibition fundraiser for Incubation Arts, which runs Charles Roe House.
She said: “The fashion students have once again produced a superb end of year fashion show. Myself and fashion lecturer Eleanor White would like to send a massive congratulations to all our students for all their hard work, determination and creativity.
“Both year groups have accomplished so much this year. I have been incredibly proud of all the wonderful feedback received from our industry links and from university lecturers who have interviewed and offered places to our second year group. Our students deserve every success in the future.
“Our team would also like to thank Julie Hamer, director of Incubation Arts, for allowing us to use Charles Roe House once again to present our end of year catwalk show.”
Julie Hamer said: “The designs were stunning, each student’s work was individual and a huge credit to the fashion tutors. Incubation Arts looks forward to continued collaborations with Macclesfield School of Art and Design, in which we can promote the creative talent of their students in the community.”
The fashion team would also like to thank, Year two media students Amy Duffy and Lauren Wrenham for photography and film, and Year one Music students Tom Bedford, Tom Price and Charlie Cowburn.
