Young team kicks off in style

YOUNG footballer­s are kicking off the new season in style after a donation.

The players from Bollington United Football Club have netted a new set of Euro championsh­ip replica match footballs from the Co-op branch in Bollington.

The players will be able to take to the Atax pitch on Ovenhouse Lane in Bollington with the new balls for the new season.

They have been donated by The Co-op’s Bollington food store as part of its commitment to encouragin­g young people to lead healthier, more active lifestyles in their community.

Alex Bowyer, at the Co-op food store in Bollington, said: “As a community retailer, the Co-op is committed to encouragin­g young people to lead healthier, more active lifestyles locally.

“We are pleased to have been able to support Bollington United FC and the work it does in the community to create enthusiasm and interest in sport.

“We hope they kick-off the new season in style.”

Bollington United Football Club enters teams in the Stockport Metropolit­an Junior Football League.

A spokesman said: “We are extremely grateful for the community donation of Euro championsh­ip footballs donated by Alex and the team.

“Their donation has contribute­d to our goal, keeping the youth of our community healthy and active playing football and doing something they all enjoy.”
