Tickets go on sale for Ollie’s Ball
TICKETS are on sale for a ball in support of two children with a fatal illness.
The Ollie’s Army Ball will take place at the Hallmark Hotel And Spa, Handforth, on September 10 from 7pm.
The event will include reception drinks, a three-course meal, raffle and auctions, music and plenty of surprises in store.
The ball is in aid of the Ollie’s Army campaign which aims to raise money for the Carroll family in Poynton.
Mike and Lucy Carroll’s children Ollie, five, and Amelia, three, have Battens Disease, a rare degenerative condition with no known cure.
The condition means they will lose their speech, mobility and eyesight as they get older.
As the children get older their needs will get greater so the campaign will help raise funds to pay for a house extension for the specialist equipment needed to help them, as well raise awareness of the disease.
Vicki Lorains, who is organising the ball, said: “This brave and courageous family still have a long way to go and need your support in order to help provide Ollie and Amelia with the facilities needed for the essential care for their two precious children.
“Come along and show your support for this fantastic charity that is Ollie’s Army. This event is sure to be a great night.”

Teams are also wanted for the Ollie’s Army football tournament on September 4 during the Ollie’s Army Family Fun Day. It is £50 to enter a seven-a-side team.
Meanwhile, the Big Build, a project to build an extension at the family’s home is going well.
The family have been getting plenty of offers of help since their DIY SOS appeal earlier this month.
