College so proud of ‘superb’ results

A Level results at All Hallows have been hailed as superb.

The class of 2016 produced an increase in the top grades of A*, A and B grades and saw 99 per cent of all students pass.

The top performing students are Siobhan Wright, who got three A* grades, and Abigail Percival, who clocked up one A* and four As.

Meanwhile Elliott Lamb got two A* grades and A and a B.

Paying tribute to the school’s contributi­on to her success Siobhan Wright said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time at All Hallows.

“The college has helped me to develop as a person as well as achieve great results.”

The following students achieved three or more A* to B grades: Oliver Anderson, George Bailey; Jessica Bailey, Thomas Bowers, Hannah Bristow, Kayleigh Chadwick, Tristan Cumberland, Joshua Coward; Matthew Curley, Lydia Deaville, Megan Geary, Isobel Glen, Olivia Hastings, Jack Hutchinson, Dominic Langer, Hannah Lobo, Amy Murgatroyd, Emily Robinson, Erin Sharrocks, Emma Smith, Charlie Waller, Alice Waterhouse, Jake Wedge, Matthew Weetman, Aidan West, Rosie Wild and Katie Wilson.

Many of the students will be heading off to university including Hannah Lobo who has been accepted into Cambridge University, Sidney Sussex College to study Geography.

All Hallows teachers are particular­ly proud of four students for whom English was not their first language including Russian Svitlana Lyekar, whose achieved ABBC, Zuzanna Kowalczyk who is Polish and got A*BBC, Spaniard Marta Sanchez who achieved A*BC and Dominic Langer who is German and got A*BBB.

Student Alessandro Pinto who was involved in a life threatenin­g road accident earlier this year and Ashley Lawson who lost both his home and personal possession­s in a house fire in the middle of his examinatio­ns both achieved exceptiona­l results.

Michelle Garvey, assistant principal and head of Sixth Form said: “It’s great to see the happiness and energy in our students when they are making their choices for their next stage of education or employment.”

Tony Billings, principal said: “We are so very proud of our students’ achievemen­ts.

“There are so many pressures on young people to develop a wide range of skills and their character as well as achieve great results.

“We are delighted when everything works out so well for them.”
