Artist shares secrets for charity show
A TALENTED artist will be sharing her secrets with enthusiasts as part of a charity art exhibition.
Susie MacMurray, who is a former classical musician, was specially commissioned to produce work for the Barnaby Festival.
She has joined the team at the East Cheshire Hospice Biennial Art Fair and will be giving a free talk during a special exhibition at the town hall, which will see a percentage of the profits from artwork sold going to the hospice.
Susie said: “I’m delighted to be involved with Art Fair 2016, which is raising money for East Cheshire Hospice. It is a cause that is very close to my heart.
“As a Cheshire-based artist, it’s lovely to be invited to share my practice close to home, in Macclesfield Town Hall. I’m looking forward to seeing the venue filled with the work of exhibiting artists.”
Susie’s free illustrated talk takes place on Saturday, September 24, at 11.30am at Macclesfield Town Hall.
The fair sees more than 100 artists display their work with a percentage of the profits from artwork sold over the weekend going to the hospice.
Organisers of this year’s event – which runs from September 16 to 25 – have also arranged three special art tours where guests can view and discuss the artwork with the artists themselves.
Tours take place at 11am on Saturday, September 17, Monday, September 19, and Thursday, September 22, meeting just beforehand in the pop-up café in Macclesfield Town Hall.
Spaces are limited, so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
